Observing

I worked as a telescope operator for the Raymond E. White Telescope for two years during my undergrad.  In my first year, I conducted public nights, where I prepared observing plans, gave lectures about the telescope and targets, and answered audience questions. In my second year, I transitioned to assisting two undergraduate courses, guiding students through observing sessions, addressing their questions, and teaching them the scientific significance of our targets. During this time, I also contributed to the maintenance of the 21" telescope by assisting with the cleaning of its primary optics, further enhancing my hands-on experience. Additionally, as part of my undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, I had the opportunity to observe with the 61" Kuiper Telescope on various occasions, broadening my practical expertise in observational astronomy.
